Black Sheep Jiu-Jitsu
Professor Wes and Coach Sophee started what was then known as Gulf Coast Grappling Academy in January of 2021. The club was built to be a community ran grappling gym where people from all walks of life were welcome to come and train. That dream took off as the club quickly outgrew multiple shared spaces such as garages, churches and our very first 1,000 square foot space in downtown PC! We have been located in Lynn Haven since winter of 2022 in 3,000 square feet of training space. Professor Wes has been grappling for well over 20 years and was awarded his black belt in October of 2020 by Master Rillion Gracie. He boasts a very successful wrestling career in high school then later made the transition to Jiu-Jitsu in his early adulthood. He has had the honor of training with Douglas Lima, Roberto Traven, Rillion Gracie and Renato Tavares! Professor Wes's love for grappling is infectious and it wasn't long after opening the gym until he convinced Coach Sophee to join him on the mats. Professor Wes and Coach Sophee both hold multiple coaching and safe sport certifications to provide you with the safest on mat experience as possible.
